About Us
2022-2023 Season
About Us
Concerts International is in its 50th season of bringing the world's finest chamber music concerts to Memphis area audiences. It’s as if, for each of our five concerts a season, Carnegie Hall were magically transported to Memphis -- with affordable ticket prices. We are committed to sharing this music with our city’s student musicians by providing opportunities to learn from the world’s best. In addition, we strive to introduce chamber music to new audiences, through outreach activities at schools, colleges, retirement communities, museums, and many other places throughout the greater Memphis community.
Concerts International is a non-profit 501 (3)(c) organization run by a volunteer Board of Directors, with only one administrative employee, so we rely heavily on the active participation of our board members. You’ll see them welcoming you at our concerts, giving out programs, and taking tickets, but they also select and hire the musical ensembles, arrange publicity, market our subscriptions and ticket sales, handle the accounting, and act as host families for the visiting musicians.
Our concerts depend on the continuing generosity of our donors, subscribers, and concert sponsors.
Concerts International has a premier relationship with the University of Memphis Rudi E. Scheidt School of Music, and has established a cooperative marketing alliance with GPAC and four other premiere classical music presenting organizations in Memphis: Memphis Symphony Orchestra, Opera Memphis, Iris Orchestra, and Memphis Chamber Music Society.
